How we reported the early stages of the fast moving murder inquiry

The trial judge, Mr Justice Goss, thanked jury for care and attention in verdicts given. He says their part in the case is over.

Each jury member has been given the option to be exempt from jury service for a period of 10 years, if they wish, Mr Justice Goss tells the court.

The mandatory term for conviction of murder is life, but Mr Justice Goss says he has to confirm the fixing of a minimum term.
