RASCIST abuse was shouted at a mother and and young daughter while they waited for a bus in Carlisle city centre say Police.

The incident happened yesterday morning, Thursday, February 27 on Brook Street near to the Bargain Booze shop, at about 8.20am.

Cumbria Police are treating it as a hate crime.

A Cumbria Constabulary spokesman said: "The unknown suspect is described as a white male, around 6ft 7ins tall, of slim build, clean shaven and wearing a short light blue waterproof jacket, a back woolly hat and was carrying large ‘bag for life’ shopping bags.

"It was reported that a man shouted racist abuse towards a woman and her young daughter while they were stood at the bus stop on the street."
