A BROKEN-DOWN HGV which "cannot be moved" is causing rush-hour chaos on a major commuter motorway.
Police were called to a breakdown on the M62 westbound carriageway, between junction 24 (Ainley Top) and junction 25 (Brighouse) at around 5.18pm.
The T&A and AA traffic pages showed the incident as being an accident.
But, Highways England has since confirmed a HGV has broken-down.
A spokesperson said: "Lane one and two are currently closed due to a broken-down HGV having its brakes locked on so cannot be moved."
Two lanes are still open, but there is approximately 7.5 miles of extremely slow moving traffic on approach to the HGV.
Motorists are being advised to add an extra 45 minutes onto their usual journey.
This is having a residual effect on people travelling out of Bradford towards this area.
Traffic officers are at the scene, with a recovery vehicle on route.
