A SEAFRONT road is closed both ways after an accident near the i360.

A middle aged man is thought to have had a medical incident in a car on Kings Road, Brighton.

A witness said the car crossed over the central reservation and hit a second car just before 9am.

Several police cars and ambulances are currently at the scene.

The air ambulance has been called.

Traffic is being diverted up Preston Street, Brighton.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "We have responded to a report of a traffic incident involving a car on the A259 Kings Road, Brighton, at 8.53am.

"A man who was driving the car is receiving medical attention and being taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital by road ambulance.

The Argus:

"The road was closed in both directions for the incident to be dealt with safely.

"An air ambulance attended but was not required to take the man to hospital."
