LOCAL people are being invited to take to the stage for a nostalgic journey back to the Second World War. Haworth West Lane Baptist Amateurs are looking for performers to join them for a spring concert to celebrate VE Day.
Rehearsals for the May presentation begin on Wednesday February 26. Immediately after the concert, members will begin rehearsals for their annual Gilbert and Sullivan operetta, this year Ruddigore which will be performed in November.
Amateurs spokesman Ian Dobson said: “No experience is required and all are welcome to join our friendly and welcoming society.”
Audiences at both shows will be able to sit back in former cinema seats in the church’s upstairs theatre.
Mr Dobson said: “They are very comfortable and will be a great improvement on the church pews they have replaced.”
