A campaign to introduce children to the dentist is being run in Slough this half term week.

Parents are invited to take their young children aged under five to meet their local dentist on Tuesday.

Slough Borough Council’s public health team and dentists have been working closely with local schools for the last year to help with oral health education and facilitate supervised brushing as well as improving the level of tooth decay in under fives.

Starting Well dentist practices, which are part of a campaign to raise awareness of the importance of oral health, are hosting this week's open day.

Details of the opening times and contact information to book a free appointment for the following dentists are below:

  • Farnham Road Dental Practise- 01753 537634- 9am-5pm with lunch break 1-2pm.
  • Abbey Dental Surgery- 01753 536601- 9am-5pm with lunch break 1-2pm.

Councillor Natasa Pantelic, cabinet member for health and wellbeing, said: “Please pop along on Tuesday with your under fives to any of the four dental practises taking part in our open day. You can book an appointment or just drop in and meet the dentist."

“We are passionate about improving oral health for our under fives here in Slough by encouraging parents to bring their children along to the open days, promoting teeth brushing twice a day and regular dentist check-ups.”
