POLICE have appealed for witnesses after two people sustained serious injuries following a crash on the A5 near Corwen

North Wales Police was called just before 3.30pm on Tuesday, January 28 to report a two vehicle crash involving a Honda Civic and a Ford Ka.

The female driver of the Ford Ka was airlifted to Royal Stoke University Hospital from the scene by Wales Air Ambulance.

The driver of the Honda was initially taken to the Wrexham Maelor Hospital but he was later transferred to Stoke.

A police statement said both drivers have sustained "serious but not life threatening injuries".

PC Anja Macleod, of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “The black Honda was travelling towards Corwen from Llangollen with the Ford Ka travelling in the opposite direction.

"I am appealing to anybody who saw either vehicle prior to the collision, or anybody who may have been travelling in the area and who may have dash cam footage to contact us.”
