POLICE advised a driver not to pay for insurance through Facebook after he was found to be uninsured.
Officers from GMP's Traffic division stopped the drivers' dark Blue Vauxhall Corsa in Chorley New Road last night (Wednesday).
He was found to be uninsured and was reported to the courts.
In a tweet, an officer said: "After a long debate about insurance, we gave the driver the following advice, 'Don't rely on a chap on Facebook to insure your car and give him money expecting to have a valid policy'."
The car was seized by police.
