THE man who started a petition to strip Harry and Meghan of their titles has suggested Katie Price and Chris Eubank could replace them.

He put the two Sussex celebrities forward after the royal couple said they would be stepping back from their roles.

Charles Ross, from Brighton, made headlines last month when his petition to strip the Duke and Duchess of Sussex of their titles attracted so many signatures Brighton and Hove City Council was forced to discuss it.

At a meeting, the council said it had “more pressing issues” and would not be debating the matter further.

The 54-year-old suggested Katie Price could “go and open a few village fetes” and “turn up to charity dinners”.

Speaking about the former glamour model, Charles said: “She’s an amusing character, she’s got the mettle for the role and I’m sure she’d do her best.”

Eubank Snr, meanwhile, could replace Harry, he said. Charles said the ex-boxer would be a dab hand “opening a new leisure centre or two”. He said: “It’s not like I’m wild on the idea, but people should be allowed to choose who they want.

“It would be much more fun if the royals were elected. It could be a bit of fun.”

Charles has previously suggested journalist Piers Morgan could step up to the plate – and said anyone could be chosen to replace the pair.

He was frustrated with the response to his petition and said: “It’s the third most signed one in the history of Brighton petitions. Nearly 4,000 people signed it.

“Of the top ten, this is the only one that hasn’t been actioned.

“The council have failed to fulfil the democratic will of the people.

“The royals give others an excuse to be rich and not feel guilty about it.

“It would be better if we chucked the titles out with them.

“Maybe the others will all follow suit, and that would be the end of it all."
