KARL Robinson admits his touchline ban will mean he feels the tension more than normal tomorrow.

The Oxford United boss is unhappy about the sanction handed down by an independent commission this week.

It came from an exchange with the match officials following the goalless draw against Shrewsbury Town last month.

Robinson, who does not intend to appeal, will be in communication with assistant Derek Fazackerley.

He said: “It will frustrate me being up there because I do love being down there.

“I do like motivating my players when it goes flat I do think they need that.

“But I’ve probably got the best assistant in the Football League in Faz, as well as the likes of Mous and Mackie, who are always loud and will motivate the players.”

The head coach watched from the back of the South Stand last season when he served a similar punishment.

And it may be the same again, partly because he does not want to sit down.

“I will have a seat in the directors’ box, but I won’t be able to sit still,” he said.

“So when people are paying a few quid I don’t think they will take too kindly with me being a bag of nerves.

“I will feel more nervous than ever being sat there.

“I feel like what I’ve been judged for is wrong, but I accept what I’ve been given and I feel like I’ve let the players down.”

Robinson though did joke there will be two people at the Kassam Stadium pleased with his position in the stands.

He said: “I think the fourth official and the linesman on our side will be the happiest men in the world.”
