THE opening date has been announced of the new Wren Kitchens showroom in Bradford at the Forster Square Retail Park.

It will will open on Friday, January 24, offering what the company said will be an "inspirational" environment for shoppers.

The 14,103 sq ft former Mothercare unit is undergoing a complete transformation with a top specification fit-out incorporating over 40 kitchen displays, a 3D virtual reality room to help bring dream kitchens to life and an interactive appliance studio.

Wren said that it is still recruiting for the the store.

It said: "As the best place to work in the UK, and the fastest growing bricks and mortar retailer, Wren Kitchens is on the lookout for the last five talented people to join the 16-strong Bradford team."

The positions available are two kitchen sales consultants, an information advisor, a design surveyor and a trade designer.

Wren is a dedicated family-run business says it has a strong commitment and loyalty to customer experience. It employs more than 5,000 people across the UK.

“The build-up to opening a showroom is an exciting moment as we all pull together to add those finishing touches, so our customers are blown away when they walk through the doors,” said Gary Baker, Wren Kitchens Bradford showroom manager.

“Our showroom will offer an experience like no other as it showcases all the inspiration you need for a kitchen renovation such as ultra-modern to edgy industrial and charming country kitchen displays. We also display an array of handles, worktops, sinks, taps, storage solutions and appliances suitable for any style and budget.”

This will be Wren’s 90th showroom across the UK and it has many more planned to open in 2020.

The Mothercare store closed in March.

Speaking about the closure news, Bradford Chamber of Trade secretary Val Summerscales said it was sad to see the demise of Mothercare, but welcomed the fact that another retailer has been found.

“It will be welcome on Forster Square, I’m sure,” she said.

It will mark Wren’s first showroom in Bradford, but there is also one at Birstall Shopping Park and in Huddersfield town centre.

The Lincolnshire-headquartered firm was founded 10 years ago in Howden, East Yorkshire, and now delivers more than 2,000 kitchens a week from its production facilities in Howden, Scunthorpe and Barton-upon-Humber.

Wren, whose parents company is West Retail Ltd, published its company accounts in March, reporting a turnover of £490,782,631 – an increase of 20.7 per cent on 2017.

The new showroom will join major names including Boots, Argos Living, Currys, Harveys, Dreams, DFS and Next at the Forster Square Retail Park.
