SAN Lorenzo’s new rooftop terrace has opened in time for Christmas parties.

The 60 seater Terrace Gin and Cigar Bar is the latest addition to the Italian restaurant and bar, set over two floors in Palmyra Square’s Treasury Building.

It features a garden theme with a large olive tree, marble top bar and fire table and as well as an extensive range of speciality gins you can sit back with a selection of cigars from Cuba and central America.

Spirits, champagne and cocktails – including San Lorenzo’s signature Pina Colada served in a pineapple – will also be on the drinks menu.

Charles Dobosz, who also runs Las Ramblas and Grill on the Square, said: “We have created a versatile terrace suitable for all seasons. It’s lovely and cosy at the moment with the open fire, our feature fire table, plenty of heaters, and snug seating.

“Then heading into the warmer months, the fully retractable roof will be open creating a sun trap.”

The Terrace is currently open Thursday to Sunday, as well as a few special days over the festive period, including Christmas Eve and Boxing Day.

General manager Richard Scholtz added: “I’m especially looking forward to hosting our first all inclusive New Year’s Eve on The Terrace.”

A new garden cicchetti menu will also be launching soon at The Terrace.
