A HAIRDRESSING salon which provides wigs to cancer patients was crowned Outstanding Business of the Year at the inaugural Welsh Beauty Industry Awards.

On November 24, staff at Morgan's Hair, Beauty & Wigs, based in Prestatyn, were recognised for their efforts.

Held at the Exchange Hotel in Cardiff, the very first Welsh Beauty Industry Awards aimed to highlight the the growth of the beauty sector and showcase achievements of the individuals working within it, from dentists and doctors to hair and beauty businesses, academies, teams and clinics.

Commenting on winning the award, Morgan's company director Rebecca Morgan-Brennan, said: "We were thrilled to be the winners - and we were the only nominee from North Wales. We are so thrilled as a team to win this award.

"It means even more to us that we have been recognised for all of the hard work we do in the region for cancer patients and those with a medical hair loss condition."

In 2016, Morgan's received an NHS contract to supply wigs to cancer patients across North Wales. Rebecca’s wigs were then offered through Glan Clwyd Hospital and Gwynedd Hospital in Bangor.

Earlier this year, the business opened a third shop in Coventry, following on from locations set up in Chester and in the former Blockbuster store in Prestatyn.
