A SCHOOL has paid a heartbreaking tribute to a teenage boy who tragically died in a car crash while abroad on holiday.

Heartfelt messages have poured in following the sad news of the death of Raees Farid, a Year 9 pupil at Beckfoot School, Bingley, and his father Abdul Farid, 41.

RELATED: Tributes paid to Bradford father and son killed in Turkey crash

In a statement issued today, the school said: "Last night we learned of the death of one of our students, Mohammed Raees Kabir-Farid (Year 9) and his father whilst abroad in Turkey.

"Raees was a remarkable young man who was hugely popular and made a great impression on our school community and everyone who knew him. Our deepest sympathies and thoughts are with his family at this terribly sad time.

"Our school community is a strong one and I have been immensely proud of the way our young people have responded with a calmness and maturity that reflects the sadness of the circumstances.

TOP STORIES:

"Each one of our young people will remember their day at school today and it is important to us all that they have the time and space to reflect in a way that suits them best. The school has made staff available to sit with students that need time on their own and we will have professional counselling support for any who need more long-term support.

"We want our students to think deeply about Raees and his many gifts. We have a book available for them to use to record their thoughts about Raees and we are encouraging those who want to leave a message to do so.

"We are grateful for the support we have received today and know that students and staff appreciate it very much."

What is your response?Going to miss having little play fights with you and seeing you smile at me each time I’d walk past you 💔breaks my heart that I can’t see your gorgeous smile anymore and talk to you before art and get a punch on my arm. Don’t think there was a time I ever won a game of dead arm seen as you had the better punches. I remember the last punch I gave you and I winded you , I only winded you because I got my skills from you. Always sending me videos on snapchat boxing and teaching me how to do it. Elite boxing champ you was and forever will be, forever will be remaining in my thoughts and my heart. Now on my snapchat it just says “it’s been a minute” since we’ve spoke and it breaks my heart because I’m not gonna get the opportunity to speak to you again. You are a gorgeous boy and I hope you're using your charming smile in heaven 👼 Love you Raees👼💔

What is your response?I didn't know Rahees personally, but I would always see him around school and he was just one of those people I expected to always see around, I guess, so when I found out about his death I was in a state of shock as most of the school were. I didn't know Rahees personally, but I can tell you that he will be missed by everybody around him, students, teachers, friends, even me. I hope his mother and his sisters are okay and I honestly can't imagine the amount of grief and pain they must be feeling having lost both their father and brother.
