Greater Manchester Police have warned Bolton residents about the dangers of leaving their vehicle unattended while it de-ices.
With the temperature plummeting to 0C overnight, commuters in the region are waking up to iced-over cars and freezing conditions.
GMP Bolton North tweeted to remind people that leaving a vehicle unattended while it warms up can result in its theft.
They also remind people to ensure their windscreen is fully clear before setting off.
The tweet said: "It’s just above freezing in #Bolton this morning. Don’t leave your vehicle unattended whilst it de-ices and warms up, or you may find it isn’t there when you get back.
"Also, remember to fully clear your windscreen before setting off."
