A HOUSE in Fearnhead used as a drug dealing den has been shut down by police.

Cheshire Police were granted a closure order on the property on Vulcan Close at Warrington Magistrates Court on Thursday, November 21.

The address had been ‘plagued by anti-social behaviour, criminal activity and drug dealing’ over the past year.

Four occupants of the house have been ordered to leave and find alternative accommodations, while all its windows and doors have been boarded up.

Anyone who enters the premises in the next three months will be committing a criminal offence and could be arrested.

Sergeant Lee Hillyard said: “This closure order is a positive and proactive response to the concerns of the local community.

“Over the past year, both Cheshire Police and Torus Homes, have been working closely with the occupants to try and address the issues and concerns which have been raised by local residents.

“Sadly, despite this work, the property has continued to be plagued by persistent bad behaviour.

“This type of activity is simply not acceptable and therefore we were left with no option but to serve a closure order.

“I have no doubt that the order is the right result for the community and it will have a positive impact on the area – I hope that the order serves as a warning that people who choose to behave in this way can lose their homes as a consequence of their actions.”
