A THIEF pinched money from a pub’s charity collection boxes.
Caroline Gibbons stole items from the Blackburne Arms in Orford on six occasions during a six-week crime spree – including monies donated to charity by customers.
But the 30-year-old, of Swindale Avenue in Orford, walked free from Warrington Magistrates Court last week.
Gibbons pinched money from collection boxes – intended for various charities including the Peace Foundation and Rise – on September 23, October 2, October 3 and October 8.
She also took crisps and snacks from the Orford Green pub on September 26 and October 10, and stole a bicycle on October 3.
The defendant admitted seven counts of theft and breaching a community order handed down for battery in October 2018.
Magistrates handed her a 12-month community order and a 12-week curfew from 8pm to 8am on Thursday, November 21.
Gibbons was also told to pay compensation of £440 and ordered to undergo a rehabilitation activity requirement of up to 25 days.
