Northern Rail has issued a 'red risk' warning to all customers today- meaning that there is a "high risk of delays or cancellations".
Northern posted the warning on their Twitter account, following what was a particularly frosty night for the country.
The company added in their statement: "The current weather, resulting in leaf fall, is causing very slippery rail conditions which could lead to delays and cancellations to services."
Earlier this morning, a points failure between Salford Crescent and Bolton resulted in blocked likes.
Northern said that disruption was expected until 8:45.
