A POLICE operation that sees undercover officers looking for danger drivers from a bus has snared more dangerous and illegal drivers.

West Yorkshire Police’s Operation Tellergate involves undercover officers travelling on an Arriva bus, keeping an eye out for illegal driving.

On Wednesday the undercover bus passed through Batley, Gomersal, Heckmondwike, Cleckheaton and Staincliffe.

Within two hours officers were able to gather intelligence on two “wanted people,” issue five tickets to drivers for not wearing a seatbelt, two tickets to drivers using mobile phones, which carries six points on their licence and a £200 fine, seized one vehicle for no insurance and made three stop searches under the Misuse Of Drugs Act.
