TIMES have not changed - well when it comes to getting excited about Christmas they have not.
We looked back to our old editions from November 1979, when our advert from days gone by featured big news that Father Christmas was coming to the Co-op Supestore in Blackburn on November 15 with a procession starting at 6pm on New Wellington Street and carrying on throuhg New Chapel Street, Francis Street, Shorrock Street and Brothers Street before arriving at the Co-op Superstore.
On the advert is said that the Toy Fair is open and then people would enjoy the chance to see ‘Santa in his grotto’.
Also there was ‘no need to travel out of town enjoy these deep cut prices at your local store.’
