A TANNING salon in Taunton has closed suddenly.
Gloden, which had freehold premises in Station Road, failed to open for business this morning (Monday).
A note in the window informed customers that the shop, which was run as a franchise, was closed.
Customers who have credit in their accounts with Gloden have been told by the company that they can either use the facilities in another Gloden salon or request a refund.
A spokeswoman for the company said: "We're not going to re-open. Gloden will leave Taunton.
"We are looking at all the options."
She said the shop has closed due to "a mix of different things".
"We wanted to look at the future development and focus more on the future.
"We've had the shop for many years. It was time for us to move to something different."
Customers with credit in their accounts have been told they can have sunbeds at the Bridgwater or Weston-super-Mare Gloden shops or request a refund via e-mail on info@golden.co.uk or by phoning the head office on 0800-6529280.
The Gloden salon in Station Road offered both stand up and lie down sunbeds seven days a week, as well as fully automated spray tanning.
