MANCHESTER icon Shaun Ryder will be sharing the highs and lows of his life in music when he takes to the stage at the Parr Hall.

The Happy Mondays frontman has teamed up with Warrington's HC Promotions for a talk and Q&A on April 25. Known to be very candid in interviews, Shaun will be talking about being a big part of the 'Madchester' phenomenon, how his music managed to transcend genres and surviving the party hard lifestyle of the Hacienda days.

The 57-year-old will also be talking about teaming up with Paul 'Kermit' Leveridge to form Black Grape which went from defying expectations to topping the charts with It's Great When You're Straight...Yeah.

Chris Hodgkinson, director of HC Promotions, said: "Creating mind-blowing anthems with an abundance of energy, his music has managed to transcend guitar and house music.

"You will also hear his take on the Manchester music scene and truly incredible first-hand accounts of mad incidents and the rock and roll capers he is so renowned for.

"Audience members will have the chance to ask Shaun questions and delve into the mind of a true icon of our time."

No stranger to Warrington, Happy Mondays headlined Warrington Music Festival in 2013 and Black Grape have played at both the festival and Parr Hall.
