The Legends of Bhangra are coming to together for a monumental gathering in London.

‘Desi Live’ will be hosted by Bobby Friction and Harpz Kaur at Boxpark Wembley on 23 November and will be bringing together artists who are considered founding fathers of global Panjabi music.

Desi Beatz founder Prash said, "‘This event is a culmination of a movement in the UK of re-emerging British Asian talent combined with a hunger and respect of live events.

"The evening promises to deliver the pioneers of the Panjabi and Urban Desi scene who have influenced and who created the British Asian music scene as we know it today.

"We are immensely proud to bring the likes of Malkit Singh OBE as well as the colourful Apache Indian amongst many others to the heart of Wembley. Its an event not to be missed”.

The King of Bhangra, Malkit Singh MBE is THE Gold Standard (& The Golden Star) by which all Panjabi Artists are measured to. Held in the same regard as only Gurdasmaan & Kuldip Manak, his indelible influence on generations of musicians is not up for debate - its clear. His countless anthems, worldwide fan base and iconic voice have grown and crossed decades & has provided the soundtrack to every Panjabis childhood or family celebration.

Hailing from Handsworth, Birmingham, Apache was a phenomenal product of his surroundings, fusing Reggae influences from his local neighbourhood with the Panjabi heritage of his home - he created a unique sound that not only transcended his generation, but became the mouthpiece for a whole era of British Asian immigrants who grew up around fellow Caribbean & West Indian immigrants of the 70’s and 80’s.

He went on to chart globally with huge anthems and sign with Bob Marleys ‘Island Records’, affirming both approval & full embracement of his newly created vein of sound. Still touring worldwide, but rarely performing in London on such a stage, he joins us to take you on a journey back to the sound that caused a sensation in the 90’s & brings a feel good factor like no other.

Transcending generations - the eponymous pioneer has worldwide anthems & truly launched Bhangra & Urban Desi to the stratosphere! THE household name of the UK scene - he put eyeballs onto an entire culture & still plays to packed out arenas globally.

The enigmatic front man of legendary boy band ‘B21’ - Jassi Sidhu is a solo star in his own right. The voice behind anthems hits such as ‘Darshan’, ‘Jawani’ & ‘Chandigarh (Aashiqui)’, he has gone on to build a back catalogue like few can boast, including collaborations with Dr Zeus, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Malkit Singh & Superwoman (Lilly Singh) to name a few! Truly a renaissance man in every sense of the word, he as consistently reinvented himself and stayed relevant to the times.

The Founding Fathers of UK Bhangra - widely credited as having popularised the now established sound of Bhangra today, Heera were and are smashing dancefloors across generations! Their songs are recognisable as anthems in your house hold growing up, at your loved ones wedding day or maybe even when you were at college back in the day.

The enigmatic front man of legendary band DCS, Shin is arguably the greatest showman of his generation! DCS were the predecessors to the likes of B21, and their popularity boomed due to their immense live performances which sounded so close to the recorded versions! If you have ever heard or seen Shin live - the man NEVER disappoints.
