I normally find my skin goes through a bit of a transition during the autumn / winter months, with it looking dry and dull.

Not helped by the fact I also struggle drinking lots of water especially when it’s so cold and opt for more dehydrating hot coffees instead. Central heating, lack of water and the change in weather definitely takes its toll.

These are the masks that I always reach for as they’re quick and easy with ingredients I usually have readily in house. I like to apply them on a hot soak day. Why not pull out all the stops? Go crazy! Out come the face and hair masks for my self pamper party.

All 3 masks contain yoghurt and honey. These are age old ingredients which have served us for centuries with their amazing properties.

Honey is a moisture magnet! It draws moisture from the air and locks it into the skin, It’s also anti bacterial and great for acne.

Yoghurt is not only a superfood for your gut but is also amazing when topically applied to your skin. Yoghurt contains anti bacterial and anti fungal properties with endless benefits. Did you know yoghurt:

  • Reduces Wrinkles And Fine Lines.
  • Fights Acne.
  • Fades Blemishes And Pigmentation.
  • Reduces Dark Circles.
  • Treats Skin Infections.
  • Soothes Sunburns

Too messy?

If all the above is a bit too time consuming and messy, you may want to opt for a ready made one. I really enjoyed using the Korganics Turmeric microdermabrasion mask containing Acai and Goji berries and also their Charcoal mask with liquorice, which draws out impurities giving you brighter skin.

Another natural ready made alternative are the Skin Island masks and scrubs. The illustrations on the jars are super cute and tell you immediately what ingredients feature in these little pots of goodness - which I have to add are pretty impressive indeed! They smell and feel great and with 5 masks to choose from, I’m sure you’ll find your favourite one or three!
