IT is time for youngsters to get creative for the festive season.

We have launched our Design a Christmas Card competition for children to come up with their festive creations.

Last year, scores of youngsters sent in their excellent designs of everything from snowmen to Christmas trees and presents.

We will feature the finalists in our special supplement on November 21 and readers can vote for their favourite design.

Lancashire Telegraph editor Karl Holbrook said: “Every year youngsters get busy drawing their favourite Christmas scenes and this competition gives them a chance to have those designs turned into a proper Christmas card for them to send to their family and friends.

“And of course Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without chocolate – so our winners will also get a tasty treat thanks to our sponsors.

“We want every school in East Lancashire to get their pupils entering this great competition."

The winner from each category, aged four to seven and eight to 11 will have their designs printed on cards by Impression (Bolton) Ltd for them to send out to their family and friends, making them an extra special gift for Christmas.

There will also be chocolate Santas courtesy of Slattery, of Whitefield.

To enter, all you need to do is draw a design for the front of your card in the template, which you can download and print off using the link below.
