Local councils deal with thousands of planning applications every year.
They range from house owners wanting to build an extension to new homes, shops, businesses and even chopping down trees.
Here are some of the best projects announced from last week - the council will now consider whether each should go ahead.
1) The Junction, 551 London Road, High Wycombe: This old boarded up pub is hoping to be developed into some brand new flats. To accommodate this there will be various extensions and alterations to the building as well as new vehicular access.
2) 79 - 81 High Street Marlow: A proposal for a new door and window, and new partition along the original rear elevation of the listed building.
3) 71 Hambleden Village, Hambleden: Application for construction of front and rear extension, and alterations, which should make this house reasonably larger.
4)Glen Erica, Cherry Tree Lane, Fulmer: An application has been submitted for the demolition of an existing dwelling and outbuilding to then be replaced by a dwelling and detached garage. A big project if it is approved.
5) Ranmore, 12 Ledborough Wood, Beaconsfield: A proposal for front, side, and rear extensions, dormer windows, and various alterations. Again, a rather big project if approved.
