FUNDS to help aspiring young tennis players across Cheshire have been boosted by more than £500, thanks to a tournament at the weekend.
A quarterly fun mixed doubles event arranged by Annie Doyle at the David Lloyd Leisure Club at Cheshire Oaks, supported by 40 players from a number of clubs, raised more than £500 for the Cheshire County Lawn Tennis Association's Youth Trust fund.
Main organiser of matches on the day was Anthony Wilding, who was thanked for making the event another great charity success.
Overall winners were: Michelle Whalley and Wayne Cooper and runners-up were Julia Fidler and Kevin Jenkinson.
Group winners were: Jane Thomas and Andrew Newton, Ann Holian and Mark Fidler, Liv Bentley and Paul Chamberlain, Joanna Waterhouse and Brian Tulley.
Bonus winners were: Steve Aylott, Louise Brown, Rosey Hoyle Lloyd Irving, Mike Mercer and Chloe Williams.
