BACKGROUND reports have been ordered into a hotel worker who admitted embezzling £655 from his employer.

Twenty-year-old Cameron Dunn pleaded guilty to the offence which happened at the Ednam House Hotel in Kelso between July and November last year.

Procurator fiscal Graham Fraser said it was a breach of trust during the course of his employment and there was also a gambling problem in the background.

Sentence was deferred at Jedburgh Sheriff Court for a Community Justice Social Work Report to be prepared and Dunn of Maxmill Park, Kelso, was ordained to appear when case next calls on October 14.
