A WOMAN was left "dripping in blood" after dogs reportedly attacked her and her pet in Clydebank.

Nicole Thom-Dowling and her pooch Willow were walking along the canal near to the Clyde Shopping Centre when they were approached by two dogs – a large great Dane and a medium sized tan/brown staffie.

The incident took place at around 6.40am on Monday, September 16.

Nicole said: “The two dogs were off leash, no owner in sight and unmuzzled. They started circling us and then started to bite and pull Willow's back end.

“I was screaming my head off and trying to get them off. When they attempted to go for her neck I managed to lift her up and at that point they bit me.

“The owner eventually made her way to us in no rush as her dogs continued to try and get to Willow in my arms. She wouldn't give me her name and then walked away from me while I was dripping in blood.”

The police were called after Nicole’s husband and a nearby neighbour managed to stop the woman.

Nicole then took so social media to warn others.

She said: “Willow surprisingly seems okay, although she is being treated for shock and wounds. I needed a tetanus shot and antibiotics.

“If you see these dogs please be on your guard. I wish I had known, and I would have lifted her up straight away.

“The fact she had a muzzle with her and put it on the great Dane afterwards makes me think this is not the first time this has happened.

“This could've been so much worse so please watch for this irresponsible owner.”
