A GROUPS in a borough seeking grants to promote community cohesion have just two weeks left to apply for the government cash.
They can get up to £2,000 each to pay for for projects to break down barriers between people from different backgrounds.
The money is available through Blackburn with Darwen Council's Our Community, Our Future programme.
It is part of £343,133 given to the borough for the first year of the Integrated Communities Strategy introduced by the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government in March last year.
The deadline for applications is Friday September 6 for projects delivered by March 31 2020.
Cllr Mohammed Khan, leader of the council, said: "Local groups are in a prime position to lead their local communities in activities that complement our social integration work, and these grants offer support to them to set up new projects or extend existing projects into new areas."
