Rangers defender Filip Helander has dropped out of the Ibrox side's Europa League squad for their upcoming qualifier against Legia Warsaw.

Swedish international Helander strolled his competitive debut against East Fife yesterday afternoon and urged manager Steven Gerrard to consider him for a starting berth in the lineup for the play-off tie.

However his calls appear to have fallen on deaf ears as he and teammate Greg Docherty were omitted from the 22-man squad.
