A SHOPLIFTER who stolen health supplements and medication from Home Bargains in Bury has been fined £80 by Manchester magistrates.

Roxanne Uddin, aged 45, of Fairy Street, Bury, pleaded guilty to committing the offences on March 25 and 29.

She was also ordered to pay £172 in compensation.

nA WOMAN has been electronically tagged after she was caught drink driving.

At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Melanie Outram, aged 36, of St Thomas Vicarage, Vicarage Street, Radcliffe, pleaded guilty to driving a VW Golf on Vicarage Street after drinking an illegal level of

alcohol.

She also admitted failing to surrender to court and was sentenced to a 7pm to 7am curfew for eight weeks, banned from driving for 18 months and was ordered to pay £170 in costs and charges.

nMAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to an electronically tagged 6pm to 6am curfew for 12 weeks after he admitted using threatening behaviour in Radcliffe on June 18.

Curtis Carruthers, aged 31, of Milton Road, Radcliffe, was also ordered to pay £170 in costs and charges and a restraining order was made banning him from contacting his victims.

nA DRIVER has been banned from holding a driving licence for 30 months after he failed to provide police with a breath sample.

At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Mohbeen Hussain, aged 30, of Chesham Fold Road, Bury, pleaded guilty and was fined £45, ordered to participate in 10 days of rehabilitation activities and pay £405 in costs and charges.

nA MAN caught driving a car car without insurance has been banned from holding a licence for six months.

At Manchester Magistrates' Court Karl Farnell, aged 61, of Blackburn Street, Radcliffe, was convicted of committing the offence in a Vauxhall Corsa on Higher Lane, Whitefield, on December 23 last

year.

He was fined £300 plus £115 in costs and charges.

nA SHOPLIFTER who targeted several stores in Bury and the surrounding area has been electronically tagged.

Leon Astley, aged 28, of Haworth Walk, Radcliffe, admitted stealing meat and alcohol, worth £133, from Aldi in Ramsbottom on June 19, seven bottles of spirits, worth £169, from Asda in Bury three days later and spirits worth £199 from Asda in Radcliffe on July 3 where he also admitted using threatening

behaviour.

He was sentenced to a 7pm to 7am curfew for 26 weeks and was ordered to have treatment for drug addiction and to participate in 30 days of rehabilitation activities.

Astley must also pay £100 in compensation.
