RAIL passengers travelling to London are facing disruptions after a person was hit by a train
The man, who has not yet been formally identified, was hit by a train between Reading and London Paddington at Southall Train station at 1pm today (July 15).
Emergency services arrived and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The main train lines have re-opened, however the local line towards London from Reading still remains closed.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: "Officers were called to Southall station shortly before 1pm today following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended but sadly a person has been pronounced dead at the scene.
"Officers are currently working to identify the person and inform their family.
"The incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
Local lines to London, such as Maidenhead and Slough are currently affected.

Great Western Railway have said on Twitter: "A person has been hit by a train between Reading and London Paddington.
"The slower local line towards Reading from London Paddington has been re-opened following a person being hit by a train. The local line towards London remains closed."
