West Yorkshire Police have launched a murder investigation and arrested a 34-year-old after the body of a man was found in Saffron Drive in Allerton.

The deceased, named as Mohammad Feazan Ayaz, 20, from Bradford, was found at about 4.25am yesterday.

Emergency services attended and the man, nicknamed Fizzy, was pronounced dead at the scene.  

His family have been informed and his funeral is due to take place at the Masjid Bilal on Drummond Road. A date is yet to be confirmed.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team are continuing enquiries into the circumstances of his death, which is now being treated as suspicious.

A 34-year-old man from Bradford has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody at this time.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Superintendent Mark Swift, said:

“While our enquiries are still at a relatively early stage our information now suggests there were others involved in this man’s death, as he was found with a number of injuries which suggest he may have been assaulted.

“Local officers will continue to be in the area today and anyone who has any concerns is advised to speak with them.”

Saffron Drive remains closed while enquiries continue.
