Hundreds turned out in glorious sunshine in Preston as the German Doner Kebab restaurant officially opened in the city.
The new restaurant is the first to open in Lancashire and was offering free doner kebabs to all customers this afternoon.
The restaurant is based on Fleet Street next door to the Kasba’s Dessert Bar.
Music and entertainment greeted customers on the hottest day of the year.
GDK has more than 70 branches worldwide and is growing rapidly. GDK's first store opened in Berlin in 1989 and uses their 'unique blend of traditional spices' and exclusive products.
They are added to locally produced vegetables that are delivered and prepared daily along with special "Doner Kebab" bread and secret sauces.
The queue stretched a long way outside the restaurant
