A DAIRY business celebrated World Milk Day.

Ecofresh dairy, based in Fobbing, kicked off the summer celebrations holding an event on June 1.

The day celebrates the benefits of dairy to farmers and customers around the globe.

Business owner Paul Luke said: “We wanted to celebrate world milk day with a day of free fun and games for our customers and those in the local community.

"We held an open day where we showed customers and potential customers what is involved in bringing their daily pints to their doorstep.

"On one of the hottest days of the year we had all the local beaches to compete with however so we wanted it to be more than just an open day.

"We drafted in help from my partners business mamas cabin in Corringham who laid on a lovely spread of sandwiches for the day and also had some lovely milk bottle cakes, bread pudding and sausage rolls made by our friends and life long dairy supporters. We of course had plenty of refreshments on hand at the dairy too.

"The morning was spent drinking tea at the dairy and showing people around while the kids got involved in a colouring competition and milk quiz.

"Everyone then moved onto the local Fobbing Park for a free picnic while I hid lots of clues for a milk bottle bingo game on route back to the dairy.

"The kids and adults had great fun on the walk back hunting for all the clues with the children showing great teamwork finding all the clues together.

"On return to the dairy we had arranged lots of goody bags for all attendees contains an array of our produce.

"We lots more planned in the near future looking at more new and local products.

"We are also just awaiting delivery of a very special good printed milk bottle which will commemorate our shortlisting for the heart of gold award with the small awards. The bottle will also include a little surprise for one of our local super milk fans."
