THREE teenagers have been sentenced over a robbery which saw them lure a youth to a park, threaten him, then steal his two mobile phones.
The trio, now aged between 16 and 17, appeared at Bradford Crown Court yesterday, while a warrant was issued for the arrest of another 17-year-old, who did not turn up to the sentencing hearing.
The charges of robbery relate to an incident which took place in November 2017 in a park in Great Horton.
Two of the teenagers pleaded guilty on the day of trial in March, while the remaining pair were found guilty after the trial.
Yesterday the court heard how the young victim had received a call on his mobile from an unknown number.
The caller, who he knew from school, said: “Come to the park, or next time I see you I’m going to hit you,” said prosecutor Ryan Donoghue.
Once there, they took his two mobiles, worth just over £1,000, and warned him not to report them to the police.
One of the youths was carrying a hammer.
The 16-year-old defendant was handed a referral order, while the two 17-year-olds found guilty after a trial were sentenced to youth rehabilitation orders.
Judge Robert Bartfield said the trio “should be ashamed of themselves”.
