Sports Illustrated magazine has featured its first ever Muslim model who posed in a burkini.
Somali-American Halima Aden modelled several colourful burkinis for the photoshoot which took place on Watamu Beach on the Kenyan coast.
Sport Illustrated magazine announced, "We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Halima Aden is the newest member of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit family.”

The 21-year-old Muslim model shared one of the images on Instagram with the caption,
“Don’t change yourself .. Change the GAME!! Ladies anything is possible!!! Being in Sports Illustrated is so much bigger than me. It’s sending a message to my community and the world that women of all different backgrounds, looks, upbringings... can stand together and be celebrated.
"Thank you so much @si_swimsuit & the entire team for giving me this incredible opportunity.”
