AS local election campaigns go this is turning out to be quite an unusual one - and one candidate has taken things to the next level with a series of surreal campaign videos.
Several of his videos of taxi-driver Altaf ‘Tiger’ Patel have already been shared.
Tiger Patel is standing in the Audley and Queen’s Park Ward, Blackburn as an Independent. He will be up against long-standing councillor Salim Sidat (Labour) and Sarah Morrison (Conservative Party).
Tory candidate accused of lying about his position on local election leaflet
Recent videos show Tiger wearing a shalwar Kameez walking slowly and silently down a street before we cut away to a tiger. In the background a person sings a traditional track praising Mr Patel.
In another video he picks up some trash near a phone box and then stands with both hands in the air - in a Richard Nixon style pose. Again, music accompanies the video which in this case seems to be playing in the vehicle.
In earlier videos he speaks to voters and talks about some of his campaign promises.
