THE former Keighley College building (pictured) will be demolished this summer to make way for development, it has been confirmed.

Bradford Council is in advanced discussions with a purchaser and following a full tender, a contractor is likely to be instructed to begin demolition within the next few months.Planning permission to bring down the building was granted in September 2018.

The property, which the council has owned since 2006, has been extensively marketed without generating any suitable offers.

Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration, Planning and Transport, said: “Clearing the site will offer the purchaser a ‘clean slate’ to create a modern, purpose built structure in highly desirable town centre location.”
