THIS picture shows the state a grassy area was left in by yobs on bikes.

One resident, who asked not to be named, said the land, near the Oddfellows Pub on Harrogate Road, was hit over the weekend.

She slammed it as an "extreme mess" and said: "It looks like the River Nile has overflowed, it's that much of a mess.

"They need to learn that it's not right to do that. Stop ruining the area for other people."

The resident said mud was everywhere, including on pavements, and something needs to be done to tackle the problem.

Councillor Geoff Reid (Lib Dem, Eccleshill) said people are fed up with nuisance bikes and quad bikes.

He said: "I was in part of Fagley over the weekend, where people were not simply irritated or frustrated - they were really distressed."
