THE opening of Bingley's new Lidl store could be delayed.

The store, on Main Street, was due to open its doors at 8am on Thursday, April 18.

But a spokesperson said that ongoing utility works and roadworks may mean the opening is pushed back.

The new store stands on the site of the old Bradford & Bingley headquarters and will create up to 40 new jobs.

Planning permission was granted in February last year and the budget supermarket has worked with local firm Stainforth Construction on the new build.
