Albion must come up with a plan to replace injured Pascal Gross today.

The German playmaker has a hamstring problem but striker Florin Andone returns to the 18 after a three-match ban.

Options available to Chris Hughton in Gross’s absence therefore include partnering Andone with Glenn Murray in attack or bringing Yves Bissouma into midfield.

Our chief sports reporter Andy Naylor has predicted Hughton will take the latter option.

It would be Bissouma’s tenth Premier League start.

Only three of the previous nine have come at the Amex but he shone at home recently in the FA Cup tie against Derby.

Elsewhere, Hughton could opt to bring in the experience of Bruno at right-back for what looks a very significant fixture in Albion’s bid to stay up.

Huddersfield made eight changes in midweek when they beat Wolves 1-0 to end a run of just one point from a possible 42.

They are likely to make fewer alterations this time and likely to stick with ex-Crawley loan star Karlan Grant alongside Steve Mounie in attack with Alex Pritchard playing just behind them.

Mounie scored home and away against Albion last season but was sent off when the Seagulls launched the Terriers’ horror run by beating them in December.

Huddersfield used Jan Gorenc Stankovic in a midfield role screening in front of the centre-backs against Wolves.

But boss Jan Siewert is likely to revert to the more usual 4-3-1-2 at the Amex and restore Aaron Mooy to midfield.

Tommy Smith is still suspended after a recent red card at Newcastle but Huddersfield have options to cover for him at right-back.
