A MUM who she tried to have sex with a younger man has been spared jail.

Elizabeth Barr, 40, pounced on the sleeping 27 year-old at a flat in Easterhouse, Glasgow.

Jurors heard the man was in tears after the September 2016 attack.

Barr claimed anything that happened was consensual – and that the victim had “panicked” because he had cheated on his girlfriend.

But the mum-of-two was convicted of sexual assault following a trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

Today, sheriff Paul Crozier handed her a community payback order with the conditions she must carry out 300 hours of unpaid work within a year and must stay in her house between 8pm and 7am.

She was also put on the sex offenders’ register for five years.

Barr was found guilty of trying to have sex with the man while he was sleeping and unable to consent.
She was put on the sex offenders list and bail was continued pending sentencing at a later date.

The court heard Barr had only met the man hours before the incident.
