A LARGE funeral procession is set to pass through Platt Bridge this afternoon, Monday, where mourners will pay their respects to 21-year-old man Billy Livesley.

Wigan Council has been informed the procession will be taking a route of going through New Street, Platt Street, Liverpool Street and Church Street between 12.30pm and 1pm.

The local authority has asked motorists to be patient and respectful as they may be delays in the area.

Motorbikes and quad bikes are set to join in the procession for Billy, who died in hospital on December 29 after being found seriously injured in Abram the previous evening.

Riders have been asked not to rev up their engines to cause shock to horses involved in the procession.

Billy's coffin will be carried to the church by horses and carriage.

A service will be held at 1pm at St Nathaniel's Parish Church in Platt Bridge.

The dress code is blue and white, the colours of Everton Football Club, the team that Billy supported.

The family have requested for black not to be worn.

A murder investigation surrounding Billy's death is ongoing.

Myles David Connors, 26, of Layton Street Caravan Park, Preston and Peter Connor, 31, of no fixed address have been charged with Billy's murder with a trial set to start at Manchester Crown Court later this year.
