A Lancashire film maker is supporting a youth organisation in the hope of creating opportunities for young people to gain skills within a creative environment.

Aeman Ali Afzal is Founder and Director of ThisIs TAE (Training, Arts & Entertainment) and supporting youth organisation SWITCH YCO (Services which inspire the community honourably).

ThisIs TAE offers creative services for adverts, weddings, corporate films and live events.

He said: “It’s difficult for young people to break in to a creative career due to lack of equipment and software at their hands, we hope to provide a platform to give them the opportunity to create a industry standard showreel to take to employers.”

In his aims to help benefit the wider community by working with young people Aeman has decided to support SWITCH as a business sponsor.

Sam Ali, Founder and CEO of SWITCH YCO has self-invested and funded the 19-month-old project from his own pocket, he now hopes that more sponsors and patrons will step forward to provide support and funding to the organisation to continue their work.

Sam said, “We need business sponsors to come forward, we are applying for funding because we do need help to secure the charity, which can help us develop and progress in working with different communities and offering our services to more young people and to make more of a difference to these young people’s lives”.

Aeman is excited to be joining SWITCH on their journey and requests for more businesses to come forward and join #TeamSWITCH.

Aeman said: “I fell in love with the idea of SWITCH once I attended the sessions to originally provide creative services for them. The team are all doing a fantastic job offering young people a safe place to play and have fun. They are integrating young people from all communities, breaking down barriers and promoting real community cohesion in Blackburn with Darwen”.
