The new Frankie’s Burger Bar in Blackburn has officially opened its doors to the public.

The building has been completely renovated both internally and externally and the spacious new look interior features the signature Frankie’s sign and booths.

The 169-seater restaurant was formerly the Pitchers Bar and needed to be completely renovated due to disrepair. It had stood vacant becoming an eyesore in the town centre.

Shaheena Patel said, “It has been a busy few months for us but we are delighted to be helping to rejuvenate this part of the town centre.

“The old building was completely stripped away as it was in a very bad state. Whilst we have made huge improvements we have kept the traditional ceiling and diners will see how we have incorporated that into the modern design.

“We could have cladded parts of the building but we did not. We have done a lot of structural work inside but we have kept the features of the original building intact.”

The restaurant is being managed by ISSUMI Limited which is being run by the AYY Group which specialises in forecourts.

The company are due to open another Frankie’s in a matter of weeks in Broadway, Bradford.

Director of ISSUMI Limited Shaheena said, “We have been a forecourt business for forty years and we thought this would be a good challenge for us. It would help us to diversity.

“We already run a Subway in Bradford.”

Shaheena said she was looking forward to meeting customers from across the North West, “This was a great opportunity I did not want to miss.

“The restaurant will employ up to 25 staff and we will be opening from 11am and will cater for diners throughout the day and evening.

“As well as the signature Frankie’s dishes we will be serving shakes and a range of desserts early next year.”

Frankie’s is renowned for their Peri Peri chicken and one hundred per cent Angus beef burgers. They use 100% pure grass fed halal beef and halal free range chicken and also offer gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options.

Shaheena said, “The food is HMC (Halal Monitoring Committee) certified and the menu will feature chicken wraps and chicken wings as well as Frankie’s favourites.

“It is a really good place to visit with your family. I know there are a few restaurants in Blackburn but there are not really that many burger places.”

The new Frankie's is based next to Morrisons and opposite the bus station in Blackburn Town Centre.
