CROSSGATES Village Park Group is looking for villagers to become new trustees in 2019 to help forward their plans.

The CVP are aiming to develop leisure facilities in the village and held a public meeting in the autumn at which there was some mixed reaction to their plans.

What CVP is asking the people of the village is 'By Crossgates For Crossgates. Are you up for a new challenge in 2019? Crossgates is calling you. Crossgates Village Park (CVP) is looking to recruit new Trustees to help develop the charities mission to develop better facilities for the village'.

CVP is in discussions with the local community and Fife Council about acquiring a 40 year lease for School View and Humbug Parks.

If this is successful then the charity will move to develop a full business case and master plan that will be used to support a range of funding applications for capital investment. What they are asking people is 'if you are up for the challenge and you can offer a little bit of your valuable time and skills then we want to hear from you'.

CVP are looking for people who can help develop the Group and help the charity to make Crossgates a better place for everybody.

Secretary Paul Laidlaw said: "The next six months will be vital for the charity as we take part in a Fife Council consultation to find out what people think of CVP's draft business plan.

"This will involve a range of ways that people can give their views and ultimately the community will decide if CVP is to take on a long term lease to attract funding for better facilities.

"The kind of facilities we are talking about for the short and long term include: pathways, play park facilities, a community pavilion, community growing area, dog exercise area and much more depending what the community says in the forthcoming consultation.

"If these are to be successful then CVP needs to recruit new trustees to help the charity drive forward such an ambitious project".

At the public meeting there were a number of people concerned with some of the ideas being put forward by the Group and they wanted more detail.
