A CASH machine was broken into in the early hours of the morning after police were called to the scene by near by witnesses.
The Co-op store in Shinfield was smashed into in an attempted ram-raid as robbers tried to steal money from a 'free-cash withdrawal' machine.
The incident took place at around 1:05am this morning and witnesses described seeing a dark coloured van flee the scene.

Thames Valley Police are carrying out an investigation into the attempted robbery.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101, the police non-emergency number or make a report online.
