A 25-year-old man stripped to the waist during a disturbance in the centre of Earlston at lunchtime on Monday, November 5.
Shaun Murray was in possession of a dog lead but Selkirk Sheriff Court was told no-one was injured during the incident.
He was arrested by the police and then made threats against the officers and their families.
Murray, who now lives in Newtown St Boswells, pleaded guilty to charges of threatening and abusive behaviour and obstructing police.
He is due to be placed on a high-tariff deferred sentence and the case was continued for six weeks.
